Sophie Turner Siblings? The GOT actress isn’t the only child of her parents, Andrew and Sally Turner. She grew up with two brothers, Will and James.
Sophie Belinda Turner, who initiated her acting career in the HBO television series Game of Thrones, has consistently enjoyed the support of her family, both in her personal and professional life.
Following her drama teacher’s encouragement, she decided to audition for a significant role.
The recipient of the Young Artist Award for Best Performance in a TV series as a supporting young actress ventured into her first cinematic lead in the independent thriller film Another Me.
Following this success, she graced various movie screens and, in 2016, took on the role of the mutant Jean Grey in X-Men: Apocalypse, reprising the character in Dark Phoenix.
Adding to her accomplishments, Turner became a patron of Women for Women in March 2017, an organization dedicated to supporting female survivors of war.
Sophie Turner Siblings: Will And James Turner
Sophie Turner siblings? Although, “Sansa Stark” had four brothers in GOT, she actually has two brothers in real life, Will and James, who are both older than her.
Her brother James is married to Kerrie, and they are living a happy conjugal life. Other than this, little is known about James, and the same holds true for Will.
Sophie Turner siblings are very close to one another. However, she always wished she had someone who was close in age with her.
She said, “I have two older brothers who are close in age and I always felt as though I needed someone or should have had someone there.”
Moreover, there was someone who could have been the support she had always longed for. Sophie openly shared about her twin sister, who, unfortunately, did not survive.
Her mother, Sally was pregnant with her and her twin sister. Unfortunately, she had a miscarriage and Sophie’s twin died.
Sally, her mother, was expecting both Sophie and her twin sister. Regrettably, a miscarriage occurred, resulting in the loss of Sophie’s twin.
This created a sense of emptiness within the Turner family, particularly impacting Sally. Intriguingly, Sophie took on a role in the film Another Me, centered around a twin presumed lost due to a miscarriage, serving as a poignant inspiration for her involvement in the project.

Sophie Turner Opens Up About Her Battle With Eating Disorder And Mental Health
Even Sansa Stark, portrayed by Sophie Turner, faced her own set of challenges. Turner has been open about her mental health journey, disclosing her battle with an eating disorder during her tenure on Game of Thrones.
In a 2019 interview with Marie Claire Australia, the actress shared,
“I have experienced mental illness firsthand, and I’ve seen what it can do to the people around [the sufferers] as well.”
“[When I was a teenager] my metabolism suddenly decided to fall to the depths of the ocean and I started to get spotty and gain weight, and all of this was happening to me on camera.”
Around the same time as her cover story, Turner revealed on the “Phil in the Blanks” podcast that social media users were swift to critique her appearance.
She recounted, “People used to say, ‘Damn, Sansa gained 10 lbs’ or ‘Damn, Sansa needs to lose 10 lbs’ or ‘Sansa got fat.’ It was just a lot of weight comments, or I would have spotty skin because I was a teenager and that’s normal, and I used to get a lot of comments about my skin and my weight and how I wasn’t a good actress.”
“I would just believe it. I would say, ‘Yeah, I am spotty. I am fat. I am a bad actress.’ I would just believe it. I would get [the costume department] to tighten my corset a lot. I just got very, very self-conscious.”
These body image struggles had a profound impact on Turner’s social interactions.
