Gypsy eventually unraveled the deceit and, with the help of her then-boyfriend Nicholas Godejohn, orchestrated the murder of her mother in June 2015.
Following the incident, Godejohn received a life sentence for the crime in February 2019, with the defense contending he acted out of love to rescue Gypsy from her mother’s abuse.
Gypsy, in turn, was sentenced to 10 years in prison for her role in the murder, securing an early release in December 2023 after serving eight years.
Behind bars, she found love and married Ryan Scott Anderson through the prison’s pen pal program.
