Following the release of the movie Sistas, speculations started about Brian Jordan Jr. being gay.
In the movie, the actor portrayed the role of a gay banker called Maurice so well that people could not help but wonder if he was not acting after all.
However, he cleared the air in an interview with “City Lights” on BET and let everyone know he is not gay.
In the interview, he was asked about his character in Sistas and the importance of LGBTQ+ representation.
Brian Jordan said that even though he is not gay, he is honored to be able to represent and be part of making the change.
Furthermore, the actor added he feels immensely grateful to be able to help provide representation to people who haven’t felt seen before.
Jordan Jr also highlighted the importance of making “black gay men” seen through his role.
He said, “It’s necessary to show Black, gay me if you’re having a show in Atlanta, and I believe Maurice is representative of that.”
