Max’s maternal grandmother, Georgann “George” Potts, was also born in Indiana. She was the daughter of Delmon Potts and Henrietta George Ann Towery.

Delmon was the son of Thomas Potts and Surelda Frances Lashbrook. Henrietta was the daughter of George Riley Towery and Sarah Ann Cary.
