According to court documents, Clifton-Carmack, a recently divorced mother of two, was accused of wearing provocative clothing.
Upon seizing her phone, law enforcement was unable to access its contents until a warrant was obtained.
Following the issuance of the warrant on December 22, police discovered text messages indicating an alleged relationship between the 16-year-old student and the educator, as outlined in court documents.
Warrants for the teacher’s arrest were promptly issued. Upon her arrest in Texas, Hailey Clifton-Carmack faced charges including first-degree endangering the welfare of a child, second-degree statutory rape, sexual contact with a student, and fourth-degree child molestation.
According to court records, her bond was established at $250,000. Kent Stoumbaugh, the district’s superintendent, clarified in a statement to ABC 17 that Clifton-Carmack had not been present on school grounds since the allegations initially surfaced.

The witness informed investigators that the victim played a role in Clifton-Carmack’s divorce.
Despite the allegations, when detectives questioned the teacher on December 8, 2023, she denied any involvement in a sexual relationship with students.
Around December 23, Clifton-Carmack departed Missouri to visit her family in Texas. Later, on January 3, 2024, police interviewed individuals residing at her previous residence in Missouri.
These individuals conveyed that she had moved to Texas to live with her family and was uncertain about her intentions to return.

The authorities further charged the father, Mark Creighton, 47, of approving the educator into his house to have intercourse with the victim. Thus, he is charged with endangering the welfare of a child.
Prior to the day of arrest, a witness disclosed that they had informed the teenager’s father about the purported misconduct.
In response, the father acknowledged being aware of a “sexual relationship” between Clifton-Carmack and his 16-year-old son, as indicated in court records.
Mark even added that he knew the unwanted pair were using other students as lookouts while they had physical intimacy during school hours.
The report also addresses that during the time of the confrontation, Creighton was talking on the phone with Clifton-Carmack. Thus, the teen’s father is charged with $50,000 bond.
