The organization experienced significant growth in 1995 when TerKeurst and Marybeth Whalen became actively involved.

Lysa Terkeurst New Husband Chaz Adams? Ex-Husband Art Terkeurst & Infidelity
Lysa Terkeurst New Husband? In 2008, TerKeurst openly shared her personal experience with abortion in an essay, revealing that she had undergone the procedure before her marriage. Despite this difficult aspect of her past, TerKeurst is a mother of five children.
TerKeurst reconciled with her husband, Art TerKeurst, even after facing challenges such as repeated infidelity and substance abuse on his part.
In December 2018, the couple renewed their vows in a ceremony held near their residence in Waxhaw, North Carolina.
However, TerKeurst took the step of filing for divorce from Art in December 2021, and she publicly disclosed her decision in January 2022.
In her announcement, she shared that her husband of nearly three decades had exhibited “chosen patterns of behavior that dishonor God and the biblical covenant of marriage.”
The couple, who share five adult children, faced the challenging reality of ending their long-term marriage.
In contrast to her past divorce, the leader of Proverbs 31 Ministries and accomplished author, 55 years old, shared news of her recent marriage through a social media post.
Lysa TerKeurst captioned a series of snapshots from her wedding with the words, “I want to invite you in to share a new chapter in my life.”
The images included moments where she was surrounded by her children and grandchildren, capturing the special occasion.
Lysa said in an interview that she met Chaz in January of 2023. As the events unfolded throughout the past year, both she and Chaz recognized the love that had blossomed between them—a beautiful love that, like all love, demands effort.
Together, they forged a sense of togetherness characterized by safety, honesty, enjoyment, humor, and a commitment to the sacred principles guiding them in how God instructs individuals to love and care for one another.
She further added that they had engaged during the previous autumn, and she chose to keep this moment private initially so that she could personally share the joyous news with as many people as possible.
Lysa took advantage of opportunities to disclose this happy development during chance encounters at stores, airports, coffee shops, dinners, and even through FaceTime conversations—cherishing these sweet moments and connections.
The pair shared their wedding vows in France, surrounded by their family against the beautiful mountains.
Lysa Terkeurst: Ex-Husband Art Terkeurst & Infidelity
In 2017, TerKeurst disclosed her decision to seek a divorce from her husband due to his infidelity and struggles with addiction.
In a heartfelt statement at the time, she revealed that he had “been repeatedly unfaithful to me with a woman he met online” and was grappling with substance abuse.
However, the couple chose to renew their vows just over a year later after putting in the effort to rebuild their marriage.
Despite their initial attempts at reconciliation, TerKeurst eventually decided to pursue divorce for a second time when her husband “broke” those renewed vows.
After that court filings brought to light that Art had spent over $118,000 of the couple’s money on an affair with a woman he met on SugarDaddy.com.
Reflecting on the challenging years, TerKeurst shared,
“Over the past several years, I have fought really hard to not just save my marriage but to survive the devastation of what consistent deception of one spouse does to the other. It’s brutal and heart-crushing to constantly fear the hurtful choices of someone you love. I’ve had to learn the hard way there’s a big difference between mistakes (which we all make) and chosen patterns of behavior that dishonor God and the biblical covenant of marriage.”
