John Sidney McCain III was a prominent American politician and United States Navy officer. He served as a United States senator from Arizona from 1987 until his passing in 2018.
Prior to this, McCain held two terms in the United States House of Representatives and was the Republican nominee for president of the United States in the 2008 election, ultimately losing to Barack Obama.
He hailed from a distinguished military family, being the son of Admiral John S. McCain Jr. and the grandson of Admiral John S. McCain Sr.

Born on August 29, 1936, at Coco Solo Naval Air Station in the Panama Canal Zone, John Sidney McCain III was the son of naval officer John S. McCain Jr. and Roberta (Wright) McCain.
He grew up with an older sister named Sandy and a younger brother named Joe. Since the Panama Canal was under U.S. control during that period, McCain obtained U.S. citizenship at just eleven months old.
Sadly, John McCain passed away at the age of 82, on August 25, 2018.
Upon his passing, Meghan conveyed a heartfelt farewell message to her father on Twitter, expressing deep emotion:
“All that I am is thanks to him. Now that he is gone, the task of my lifetime is to live up to his example, his expectations, and his love.”
McCain has six other children, who are generally less popular in the public eye compared to Meghan, who served as a host on ABC’s The View.

Meghan McCain has been known to speak out on various issues and has faced controversy, including her criticism of Prince Harry, Bradley Cooper’s “Maestro,” ABC’s “The View,” and the “Sex and the City” reboot “And Just Like That.”
Following an on-air remark by co-host Ana Navarro on The View, Meghan McCain accused the show of “slandering” her name, alleging that the comment undermined her reputation as a political commentator.
Navarro’s remark prompted McCain to express her discontent, as reported by Entertainment Weekly.
Recently, the American TV personality expressed strong disapproval of the upcoming musical “The Ghost of John McCain,” which portrays her late father’s ghost being trapped in Donald Trump’s brain.
Meghan McCain stated that she is grossed out by the entire concept, denouncing the production.
