Frances Ford Seymour, a wealthy socialite, entered into marriage with Henry Fonda in 1936.

She had inherited a significant fortune from her first husband, George Brokaw, following his passing.

Jane Fonda, their second child, came after their son Peter Fonda, both of whom pursued careers in acting.

Jane Fonda shared an emotional moment from her final encounter with her father, Henry Fonda, in an exclusive clip from her upcoming appearance on Who’s Talking to Chris Wallace.

The actress recalled an emotional exchange with her father, who passed away at 77 when asked by an interviewer if they had resolved their differences before his death.

Jane revealed that before her father died, she was able to tell him that she loved him and that she forgave him for whatever didn’t happen.

She continued with the hope that her father would forgive her for not being a better daughter.

Reflecting on the moment, she further added,

“He didn’t say anything. But he wept. I had never seen that before. I’d never seen my father break down and weep. And I— it was, it was powerful.”

Henry Fonda was characterized by PEOPLE magazine in 1975 as “respected for his talent but widely disliked for his abrasive egotism and vanity.”

This perception contributed to occasionally strained relationships with his children, Jane and her brother Peter Fonda.

  1. I love Jane Fonda both as actress and as activist — or perhaps better, as actress, activist AND as the human being she has worked so hard to get better and better at being! Her humanity is palpable, and she is still at it, now turning her attention and charisma to the great issue of our day: Climate Change.
To discover more about that, go to FireDrillFridays.org or just search in Google for Fire Drill Fridays as I’m not sure I got that web address quite right. This followed Jane’s response to seeing Greta Thunberg, the Swedish schoolgirl who at 13 or some such age began to take Thursdays off school to picket the Swedish Congress and demand action for Her Generation who would be the ones most afflicted by Climate Change!
Thank you, Jane and I know I don’t have to tell you to keep up the good work because that’s just what you do, always, to the max!😍
